Title: Interlaced

Artist: Christine Lee Tyler

Year: 2019

Materials: chain-link fence, cement, spray paint, wire

Size: 3'x4'

This work addresses the temporal existence of fences and the abstraction of space. In this process, Christine deconstructed the fence and morphed the structure so that the original function dissipates and becomes ornamental and part of the landscape.

Christine Lee Tyler is a multidisciplinary New York-based artist working in video, 2D and 3D realms. Her practice consists of juxtaposing man-made structures with the natural world to address the disorder, beauty, and fluidity of human existence.

A recipient of fellows from residencies both nationally and internationally, she received her MFA from Brooklyn College and BFA from the School of Visual Arts.
